My name is Tevfik Erkan Şahan.
My first computer was a 1986 Macintosh Plus. I was a kid staring at a 9-inch monochrome screen, and I was hooked. That machine didn’t just introduce me to technology — it set the direction for the rest of my life.
I entered the multimedia world when CD-ROMs were the cutting edge. I’m talking about the era when a fast CD writer was a serious investment, sound cards were brand new, and interactive media was something only a handful of people knew how to build. I was one of them. I taught myself Macromedia Director and Lingo — the programming language behind most interactive CD-ROMs of the ’90s — and that changed everything. Suddenly I wasn’t just designing static visuals. I was building interactive experiences for some of the biggest brands in the world.
My career started with business card designs and brochures. Then it moved to interactive presentations, kiosk applications, and full multimedia projects. Before I founded my own company, I worked at agencies that served global Fortune 100 brands — creating digital experiences that were ahead of their time.
When the web took over, I made the shift. I discovered WordPress in its earliest distributed versions — the betas. I’ve been building with it ever since. I don’t even know how many WordPress projects I’ve completed at this point — it’s been that many. My agency, The WP Clan, has served clients across industries for over 15 years, with a portfolio that includes corporate websites, multilingual e-commerce stores, and large-scale WooCommerce operations.
I didn’t jump on the AI bandwagon yesterday. I integrated AI into my WordPress workflow from the moment it became viable — and I’ve been refining that system ever since. Today, I manage entire websites from the terminal using Claude Code, build sites without touching a dashboard, run automated monitoring with Checkly, and use a two-AI system where one AI does the work and another verifies it.
